ripe and ready!

it's a known fact.

morris people eat, love, worship avocados.

ask anna....and justin....and mommy....and daddy too.

and since avacados are an iconic food here,

the green, fleshy goodness is bestowed

upon every morris child on the eve of their 6th month birthday.

the family gathers round for the big moment.

it's a time of love and sharing what we love.

i have such fond memories of anna's 1st encounter.

it was true bliss.

"bring it on!" she would say as the green gushed.

knowing his family legacy,

can you imagine the excitement and wonder dallin MUST have felt leading up to that blessed day?

his FIRST time eating solid food.

and there, in front of his face was his very own ripe avocado.

drums were rolled.

the beautiful green flesh was scooped and placed on wanton tongue.

and then, i could almost hear his dismay...

"NO THANK YOU! I'll have another order of breastmilk please."

c'mon buddy. don't you understand how amazing avocados are?

they even have their own website!
it's o.k. we still love you and think you are cuter than humanly possible.

don't fret little dallin.... no pressure here.

we will just wait patiently
for the day when you join the morris way!

Avacados are our first baby food too! Or as Anna says, guacamatoes.

i was likewise disappointed in Weston's lack of interest in avacados... but now he loves them! I'm sure Dallin will eventually too... after all, it is in the genes.

He's so cute, even when he's making a face. Maybe that avacado wasn't up to his high standards. Breastmilk is sweeter, so maybe he has a sweet tooth, oh I hope not. Keep giving him the avacados ... he'll come around. Love, MOM

We LOVE avacados here also. When I'm sad I turn to avacados for comfort food. You can always tempt me with an avacado to do anything.

I love avacados, but I don't think my kids will eat them. I didn't start liking them until I was an adult.

Oh - I love them too! Too bad they are like 250 calories each. So sad that I know that...

Dallin is an extremely bright child. This kid is going to go far in life. He has my vote! Sorry, but he's the only one with taste! Avocados are wrong and evil and disgusting. The only thing that they are good for is face mask. And only then under duress.

Ha! Those faces made me laugh out loud!

My husband and I grew up in Idaho. If he could, he would be a potato farmer. My youngest hates potatoes. Won't eat them cooked in any way shape or form. She'll occassionally eat a potato chip, but she won't touch french fries. We're still hopefully that one day it will click... hopefully it will for Dallin too!

when I read the title on my feed, I actually thought, "I bet that's a post about avacados!"
We just visited Matt's grandparents in CA, and picked some avacados off the tree.

I just read your spilling the beans story, and I loved it. It really made me appreciate Kelly more. I even want to be better about letting him know that! Thanks!
