Yuck

So I finally went to get my 3 cavities filled at the dentist after putting it off. I know now why I always put it off!
I don't know about you but while I'm pregnant I get constant post nasal drip(pnd)...Why I didn't know this would bother me at the dentist I don't know! I think what caused me problems is that the dentist had my chair tipped with my feet above my head and my air way was compromised. I was being a good sport, even if I was uncomfortable until I could not BREATHE ! I like breathing and panicked when I couldn't! There I was, an Emotional, Crying, Gasping, Hacking Lady right in the middle of the open style dentist office where everyone could hear me. That was embarrassing! The worst part was that the dentist just acted anoyed that I sat up and and interrupted his work. He actually implied that I was overreacting and that it was in my head! Needless to say he said I have to re-schedule . I wonder why. I left with a fat face and red puffy eyes from the crying and now have to go again! Sigh...

Note to self:
1-Get a new dentist that isn't a JERK.
2- Never go with PND while pregnant and emotional.
3- Don't get any more cavities....
Sorry...Had to get the awful experiance out of my system. Thanks for listening!
I hate taking meds. and being knocked out but it sounds appealing after today... Anyone ever sedated during dental work?

I've never tried sedation dentistry but I have been thinking about it every time I see the commercials on tv. I really hate going to the dentist but I have NEVER had such a bad experience as you have described! First of all, you should wait until you are not pregnant and maybe even for 2 or 3 months after you have the baby. I don't think I need to say this but I wouldn't go back to that dentist either. I'm sorry that happened to you! Good luck on your next dental endevour and sedation sounds like the way to go!

Miss Julie this is your sister in law Angie! I have the most wonderful dentist EVER! I had horrible experiances with dentists previously and these guys are just fabulous. If you want their info, just give me a call or text me or something. No one should feel horrible because they cant breathe while having work done.

Once I went to the dentist and I was also sick so I just felt yucky in general. It was really cold in the office which brought on a sudden desire to pee. I held it as long as I could but was about to die so I asked to go potty. He let me even though I had a mouth full of teeth shavings and blood. About 10 mins later my whole body started shaking (from the sickness? From being cold???) and I tried to control it but I couldn't. Then I was hit with an incredible desire to pee again even though I just had gone. It was horrible and I was a mess. :)

I am dying to know who your dentist was!! That is terrible, I can't believe they were so unsympathetic! Darrell has serious dental phobia- with good reason- there is always something major needing to be done. He has to call the dentist and get a valume before he goes in or he has panic attacks- like not breathing and chest pains!

Find a dentist you would trust to take your children to. If you did not feel comfortable, I would never take my child there. I really do like our dentist and he was very kind to me as I sat bawling about my dental woes... mom's are not supposed to have dental problems...He is on our side of town, but might be good if your visiting Grandma & Grandpa Morris. The dentist is LDS also.

Good luck in your search for a dentist! You should look for another one...just my opinion.
